Install Readbird

Readbird is a web app: it installs straight from the site, opens in its own window, lives on your home screen or desktop and works offline.

Android: Chrome, Samsung Internet, Edge

  1. Open readbird.app/install in the browser and tap “Install Readbird”.

  2. No button? Menu ⋮ → “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”.

  3. The icon appears on your home screen; Readbird opens in its own window without an address bar.

iPhone and iPad: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Edge

  1. Open readbird.app/install and tap “Share” — the square with an arrow pointing up.

  2. Choose “Add to Home Screen” and confirm with “Add”.

  3. The Readbird icon appears on your Home Screen — open it like any other app.

Chrome, Firefox and Edge on iPhone can do this too (iOS 16.4 and later): the same item in their “Share” menu.

Computer: Chrome and Edge

  1. Open readbird.app/install and click “Install Readbird”.

  2. Or click the install icon at the right of the address bar / menu ⋮ → “Install Readbird”.

  3. Readbird appears among your programs and opens in a separate window.

Mac: Safari

  1. “File” → “Add to Dock” (macOS Sonoma and later).

  2. Confirm the name — Readbird appears in the Dock as a separate app.

Firefox

  1. On Android: menu ⋮ → “Install” or “Add to Home screen”.

  2. On a computer Firefox does not install web apps — open readbird.app in Chrome or Edge. Reading in Firefox works without installing.

Built-in browsers: Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp

  1. A built-in browser cannot install anything: tap ⋯ → “Open in browser” (Safari or Chrome).

  2. Or copy the link readbird.app/install and paste it into the browser’s address bar.
